Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a thought process, cognitive and perception issue.

Compulsions in OCD: Compulsions are repetitive behaviors or mental acts performed to reduce the anxiety caused by obsessive thoughts. Common compulsive behaviors are:


  1. Cleaning: Excessive cleaning the body, objects, surroundings, fear of contamination.
  2. Worship: Repeatedly engaging in religious rituals or worship throughout the day.
  3. Checking: Continuously checking electronic devices, locked doors, windows, other secured items multiple times to ensure nothing was done incorrectly.
  4. Reassurance: Frequently asking family members for reassurance regarding safety concerns.
  5. Validation of  Thoughts: Attempting to rationalize or validate intrusive thoughts.
  6. Counting: Repeatedly counting things, such as objects, floor tiles, or numbers in patterns.
  7. Avoidance: avoiding certain places, situations, people, social media due to fear or anxiety.
  8. Staring or Focusing: Fixating, staring a person, either the same or opposite gender.
